BURLINGTON is a waterfront city with a population of around 200,000.  It lies just west of Oakville and the two communities are considered to be the second wealthiest city in Canada, next to Vancouver.  Burlington has grown from a small village into a vibrant community.  The area south of the QEW is considered ‘old’ Burlington and contains a mix of older homes, townhomes and condominiums and also the mansions and luxury properties along Lakeshore Blvd..  The area north of the QEW is considered ‘new’ Burlington.  These developments were started in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and continue to be built today, with Alton Village as the newest of the finished communities.

Burlington has a plethora of things to do, including great shopping at Mapleview Mall but the community’s favourite activity is going to Spencer Smith Park and attending events and concerts or just walking, cycling or roller blading along the lake (in fact, the trail extends all along the waterfront and into the Hamilton Beaches area).  The oldest area of Burlington is Aldershot, and that community is undergoing a renaissance.  New condos have been built and new businesses have moved in.  The construction there will continue for quite some time.

My extended family lives in Burlington, so we know the city well.  Depending on your needs and desires will depend on where you choose to live.  We have a list of the best schools including French immersion and we can let you know what properties are selling for in what areas.

If you are new to the community, we would be happy to take you on a tour of this beautiful city.
