MOVING TO HAMILTON?
HAMILTON became a huge city in 2001, when all the surrounding suburbs were amalgamated into one Mega City. Hamilton consists of Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Waterdown and Flamborough, which makes up two-thirds of the city’s land mass. Each area of Hamilton is completely different and each suburb has a unique identity of its own.
Our Team is from Hamilton. I grew up on the Hamilton west mountain and went to school at the private school of Hillfield-Strathallen College, before going to high school at Westdale Secondary School. I bought my first house in Westdale (West Hamilton) before moving to Waterdown and then to Carlisle. We know Hamilton!
Hamilton real estate has become very attractive in recent years because of the low prices relative to all other communities. Hamilton used to have a reputation as being a ‘dirty city’, when the two steel companies were in full production. Today, most of the steel production has been shut down and Hamilton has become noticeably cleaner, especially in the North end and along the Bay front. The City of Hamilton is putting a lot of money into developing the Bay front and the parks and are even planning a full scale development next to the yacht club, which will feature townhomes, offices and shopping.
